Despite a short Carnival season and bleak and sometimes rainy skies we successfully hosted six free grocery distributions in the month of February! We served over 10,600 individuals this month with the help of volunteers from Haynes Academy Key Club, Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, Entergy, Delta Tau Delta, Tulane Public Health Club and Tulane Global Scholars.
In celebration of our fourth anniversary on March 23rd we'll be having a Trivia contest at Happy Raptor Distillery. Entry costs $25 and the first 50 tickets receive a free drink.
Tickets sales are live on our website today!
We're proud to introduce our new Culture Aid NOLA team members. Isabella (Izzy) Cuevas has quickly taken to her new role as our Development Manager since the beginning of the year. She has a passion for social justice, holds a B.A. Political Science and Gender Sexuality and Women's Studies, and is completing a Masters in Public Health.
Three new Tulane University students, Isabelle, Mason and Mitra have committed their semester to serving with us. Make sure to say hello on site and welcome them all into the CAN Family!
Shifts are available now on our website click here to serve with us in March!
It's hard to believe it's been almost four years and four million pounds of food since Culture Aid NOLA was launched in response to heightened food insecurity from the Covid-19 pandemic. We are still here because the need is still here and has not waned since we've started.
Our neighbors continue to face challenges like the cutting of summer EBT funding for Louisiana's children on top of continued inflation and stagnant wage growth. Culture Aid NOLA is still here because people like you believe our neighbors deserve fresh healthy food for their families with no questions asked.
We hope you'll continue to support feeding the people and the culture of New Orleans with no-barriers and no-stigmas for the years to come!
Thank you again for your support!
