Widespread Panic Nolaween 2021 Food Drive

Culture Aid NOLA's mission is to provide food aid with no barriers or stigma to underserved members of our hospitality and cultural communities with dignity and grace. Over the last year we have provided more than 1.5 million pounds of free, fresh food through twice-weekly grocery distributions open to all members of the community with no identification or paperwork required. Our goal is to create a welcoming and uplifting environment, complete with music and dancing, for our neighbors to have easy access to groceries for their families and friends without the stigma that often surrounds food insecurity and asking for help. To learn more about who we are and how we serve, click here.

Widespread Panic concert food drives first began with the fan-based organization Panic Fans for Food.  This fan organization hosted food drives at WP shows throughout the country from 1999-2007, with the goal of, “feeding people through music.”  The effort generated $70,000 and 13 tons of food in 28 cities and was handed off to the band in early 2008. Since then, the band has been hosting food drives at select shows on their tours, engaging a demographic that is typically more difficult for charities and food drives to reach. To date, the band’s “Feeding People Through Music” endeavor has raised over $236,000 and 42,000 pounds of food for communities across the country
