Thank you for joining us through one of our hottest and hardest months!  

We've made it through tough temperatures with minimal cancellations this summer, and we're excited to head into the new fall semester with fresh volunteer and intern faces. Thank you to all the hands that helped us serve over 9,000 individuals this month through 8 distributions. We're also grateful for our donors who bid on auction items for Gulf Coast Bank and Trust's Auctions in August to raise money for CAN.

This month we welcomed back service learning students from Tulane and groups from the Marine Force Reserves. There's still time to register to join us in September- volunteer dates are now live on our website.

Help us to welcome three new interns- Ashantae, Dana and Jaelin to the Culture Aid NOLA team this fall!

Ashantae Howard is originally from Baltimore, MD, she is a student at Tulane, double majoring in Public Health and International Development, with hopes of working for a nonprofit in the future. Dana Trosclair is a grants intern and is currently employed as a Principal Investigator with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), where she has worked for 20 years. She is currently on the Board of Directors of Friends of the New Orleans Public Library and Girls on the Run - NO. Jaelin Su is an operations intern at CAN. Coming from Austin, TX, she is studying neuroscience and psychology at Tulane University.

Don't forget to submit your recipe for our community cookbook- you can even reply to this email with the instructions for your favorite dish! For years our team of supporters has shared fresh food with our friends and neighbors, now we want to share how our supporters serve fresh food with their own families! Submit by September 30th to be included.
