Culture Aid NOLA requires all volunteers to fill out a volunteer waiver, wear closed-toe shoes, and be vaccinated against COVID-19. Culture Aid NOLA suggests volunteers be able to stand for the duration of the shift (3.5 hours) and be able to lift 30 pounds. Volunteers under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult. 

Volunteering is easy with Culture Aid NOLA. After signing up for a volunteer shift you’ll receive an email with details for the shift including where to park and when to show up. On the shift day, volunteers show up and undergo a short orientation. Then volunteers spend approx 1.5 hours packing over 700 grocery bags full of fresh healthy produce and shelf stable food items. After packing is done, volunteers are a part of the immediate distribution of food to community members in both a walk-up and drive-through line. After distribution, volunteers help clean the area and head home!
